The Phantoms outplayed Spruce Grove in the first period, and that relentless pressure pays off in the second with six goals.

With 2:40 left in the second, Spruce Grove forward Eva Courterille was injured from a check along the boards. The referees decided to call the end of the second period due to the injury. The player did not return.

The Phantoms scored on a two-man advantage with six seconds left after a lucky bounce over the goalie’s shoulder.

Sherwood Park let up in the third.

After the game, goalie Joe Bremner credited his team for the offensive effort for the win.

“Essentially, I didn’t play very well. The team played well, and we won,” Bremner said.
