Sherwood Park at Northwest Cyclones

SP703 failed to score on an early power play which resulted in NW702 scoring two quick goals afterwards. SP703 then had a goal called off by the referee that would have made it 2-1. NW702 scored another goal to lead 3-0 after two. Shots were 15-9 in the second in favour of NW702.
The teams exchanged goals in the period for a 4-1 loss. The final shots were 45-26 for NW702.

Sherwood Park at K of C Sabres

A better second period saw SP outshoot KC 8-2. SP also successfully killed off a lengthy 5 on 3.
The score remains 1-0 after two periods of play.
An excellent start to the third period saw SP take the lead 2-1.
An alarming 16 seconds saw KC score two quick goals and take the lead back to 3-2.
KC added an empty net goal to come away with the 4-2 win. Shots were even at 13 in the third period.
Sherwood Park 702 at Sherwood Park

SP703 scored a nice short-handed goal by Reed Fadish on a breakaway, and SP702 scored a power-play goal. SP702 scored a late goal to take a 2-1 lead into the break. Shots were 14-3 for SP702 in the period.
A sloppy second period saw SP702 outshoot SP703 10-4 and once again out score SP703 2-1 to take a 4-2 lead into the second period.
SP702 outshot SP703 7-3 in the third period and came away with a 5-3 win.

NW702 scores the only goal of the second period. A late major and game misconduct to a NW702 player resulted in an injury to Luke Mitchell. SP703 will start the third period still on the power play. NW702 outshot SP703 10-6 in the frame for a 22-14 lead overall.
SP703 took advantage of the early power play to take the lead. A back-and-forth third period saw the game end in a tie. SP703 had a good goal waved off due to the referee losing sight of the puck, and a very questionable late icing led to the game-tying goal by NW702.
Sherwood Park at Stony Plain Predators
[ngg src=”galleries” ids=”5″ display=”basic_thumbnail” thumbnail_crop=”0″]SP703 fell behind the eight ball less than a minute into the game. They did control most of the play for the rest of the period but ended up tied at two after 20 minutes of play.
Stony scored an early power-play goal, but SP703 scored on their first four shots of the period chasing the SN702 goalie. SP703 ended up scoring six goals on 13 shots in the second period and came away with a 9-3 lead.
Stony out shot Sherwood Park 9-8 in the third period but got outscored 2-1. SP emerges with a big 10-4 victory.
